IPJET was created in 1991 by a group of jurists from many countries, worried with the apparent passivity of the international community regarding the Indonesian occupation of East Timor. This international organisation intends to support the rights of the people from that territory.
The aim of the Platform is to end the illegal Indonesian occupation of East Timor, and to set up the conditions that will allow East Timorese to fulfil their Right of Self Determination.
To achieve its ends, the Platform will carry on with several actions: the development of juridical studies concerning the Right of People's Self Determination and the related UN. resolutions; the distribution of documents and papers to International Institutions; the proposal or support of any actions devised to protect the international Law and Order in East Timor; the organisation of conferences, seminars, symposia, etc., about East Timor in Universities and other institutions in different countries; and the furtherance of research and publications about East Timor.
Founded only three years ago, IPJET has now over two hundred members from around the world.
If you are a jurist and want to join IPJET now, you can view the application form. You may print it and send to the postal adress or fax below. In case your hardware won't allow the printing, you can send an E-Mail to:
